Empty Nest
...my little baby hummingbirds have fledged...it's been awhile now but I miss seeing them--as eggs, as hatchlings, going from tiny little fuzz balls to spiky darlings that barely fit together in the nest...
and I miss the little momma the most...
...but I hear the sound of her--zipping and zooming about, and it makes me stop and wonder...
where she is...what she is doing...how her little babies are making it out there in the big wide world...
and mostly importantly--I wonder, when will she be back?

Daily Quote...
...for all of us that live in this day and age of buildings, smog, and too much technology....:
"A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they shall never sit in." ~Greek proverb
Let's plant some trees people!
...by the way...did you know that every major city in the U.S. has a large park of some sort...(Central, Golden Gate, Balboa, etc...)...a breath of fresh air if you ask me...
What others can you name??

Your Daily Dose of Quote
"You can bury a lot of troubles digging in the dirt."
~Author Unknown
..the thought comes to me that many a trouble can be buried when outdoors, in the sunshine (with SPF 30 of course), breathing in the crisp cool breeze....aaaahhhh...I can feel it now...
thank you Southern California--for making it more than 60 degrees on the 3rd day of February....!

Quote of the Day
"There can be no other occupation like gardening in which, if you were to creep up behind someone at their work, you would find them smiling."
~Mirabel Osler
I especially find this quote refreshing in this day and age of hussle and bussle and technology and so many people annoyed with so many things.
I think it really is time to "stop and smell the roses"....or whatever might be blooming in your yard, your neighbor's yard, wherever.

Quote of the Day
"When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant." ~Author Unknown
