Empty Nest

...my little baby hummingbirds have fledged...it's been awhile now but I miss seeing them--as eggs, as hatchlings, going from tiny little fuzz balls to spiky darlings that barely fit together in the nest...

and I miss the little momma the most...

...but I hear the sound of her--zipping and zooming about, and it makes me stop and wonder...

where she is...what she is doing...how her little babies are making it out there in the big wide world...

and mostly importantly--I wonder, when will she be back?

Quote of the Day

"There can be no other occupation like gardening in which, if you were to creep up behind someone at their work, you would find them smiling."
~Mirabel Osler

I especially find this quote refreshing in this day and age of hussle and bussle and technology and so many people annoyed with so many things.
I think it really is time to "stop and smell the roses"....or whatever might be blooming in your yard, your neighbor's yard, wherever.
